This rock holds an amazing record of ancient Indian writings. Visitors can see several different petroglyph styles, including Fremont, Ute and Anasazi, on a rock 'billboard' 8 feet high and 20 feet wide. It was listed on National Register of Historic Places on July 12, 1976.

The road follows a canyon bottom where deep sand, deep water, and quicksand are common. There are two major creek crossings with steep banks. You may see many arches and archeological sites from the road.
